ULTRA ART FAIR functions like a Trojan Horse into the emerging and proliferating global art fair markets of today. Its webdesign mimics and quotes already existing corporate designs of art fairs.

In its ninth year of existence, from 19 – 22 September the PREVIEW BERLIN ART FAIR will present galleries from Berlin and the international art. The art fair will once again play at a fascinating event venue of the city: The former painters’ halls of the opera workshop in Zinnowitzer Strasse. Until recently, sets for the major stages of Berlin were created in this central location. Under generous skylights, the international art scene will gather here in large, column-free spaces – an ideal place for the presentation and reception of art.

Since 1999, when rabbitudes became form in Taiwan, concepts have become more and more animal; on 2nd of June 2001 - in the Year of the Snake - Rabbit and Dragon tied the knot and fused into a “Rabbidragon”. On 5th of June they flew to Rostock making a boattrip on the MS Stubnitz shipping [...]

Referring to Austrian artist Franz West the trilogy generates an “asianonym” by appropriating, linking and adjusting the artist’s name to the present situation. The “Franz.East” – trilogy tells about this kind of (k)notworking, starting with Chinese Knotting, later Peruvian Quipus and currently based on magical practice in ancient Arabia.

The fact that works land in the museum – and how – is something that has been known not just since Anselm Kiefer’s lead airplanes; whether this was a voluntary landing or an emergency landing is of no importance. But how do the works get out of the museum?

The interdisciplinary group “10 o’clock” was founded in Frankfurt/M in 1991 by the architects Bernd Mey and Christian Pantzer and the artist Ralf Schmitt, interim also the filmmaker Bernhard Schreiner was part of the group.
